WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE LISA SHELDON PHOTOGRAPHY?

My goal is to create a kind, creative, fun space and give you final images that you absolutely love. The experience is collaborative, comfortable, and professional. Hear what past clients had to say about their sessions.

WHERE IS LISA SHELDON PHOTOGRAPHY LOCATED?

The studio is located in historic Old Town Fairfax- directly across from the Old Courthouse. 4015 Chain Bridge Road.

HOW DO I BOOK A PHOTO SESSION?

SHOULD I HAVE PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP?

  • I strongly recommend professional makeup application for all headshot clients. Bottom Line: Clients look more polished with professional makeup. I have a wonderful team of makeup artists who are trained in makeup for photography and tailor makeup application to highlight each client’s best features in front of the camera.

SHOULD I HAVE PROFESSIONAL HAIR STYLING?

  • Some folks wake up with flawless hair that stays put- and for that 2% of the population, feel free to skip professional hair styling. For others, who fight with products, curling irons, flat irons, etc. to make their hair look polished, let us take that stress away and ensure your hair looks perfect for your photo shoot.

  • Another option is to schedule your photo session on the day of your latest hair cut/style with your regular stylist or within a day or two.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I RESERVE MY SESSION?

  • For all sessions (except Express Headshot sessions) please schedule a consultation 1-2 weeks before your session.

  • You will also receive a contract via e-mail outlining session agreements and protocols- this contract is required to book your session.

DO YOU EVER HAVE CANCELLATIONS OR LAST-MINUTE OPENINGS?

  • On-location options include local businesses and Old Town Alexandria.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH CORPORATE TEAM HEADSHOTS?

  • Yes; I’ve conducted headshot sessions for teams of 5 to 60+ people. Team headshots are available at the studio or on location. Learn more here.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH CORPORATE EVENTS?

  • Yes; I am available to photograph corporate events. Please contact me for more info.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH WEDDINGS OR NEWBORN SESSIONS?

  • No. But I can recommend several great photographers in these genres.

DO YOU OFFER FAMILY SESSIONS?

  • No. But I can recommend several great photographers in these genres.

PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE SESSION? 

· Multiple outfits (determined by the type of session)

· Undergarments that match the color of clothing and that will not show

· Jewelry

· Watch

· Cufflinks

· Appropriate shoes and socks for full-body images

· Comb or Brush

· Hats, scarves, or any other accessories that reflect your personality

AFTER YOUR SESSION

HOW DO I RECEIVE THE IMAGES AFTER MY SESSION?  

  • You will receive your images via online gallery delivered via e-mail.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE MY IMAGES?

  • A softproof (lightly edited) gallery will be delivered within 14 days after your session. Clients then choose images included in their package for full retouching. Once a client selects those images, final images are delivered within 14 days.

I NEED MY PHOTOS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, IS THERE AN OPTION FOR EXPEDITED DELIVERY?

  • Yes; for a $175 fee clients can choose their images for retouching the same day and final, retouched images will be delivered within 48 hours.

WHAT RETOUCHING WILL BE DONE TO MY PHOTOS? 

  • Retouching includes teeth whitening, removal of blemishes, bruises, scratches, and situational or temporary redness. Flyaways from hair will be slightly smoothed and minor adjustments to clothing may be applied. Skin will be slightly smoothed while retaining natural texture.

  • I speak with every client about the level of retouching requested and additional editing including hair color touchup at roots, body/face shaping, double-chin reduction, etc.

  • Additional charges of $100/hr may apply for extensive editing requests, such as removing braces or Invisalign bumps on teeth.

WHEN IS THE BALANCE OF MY SESSION DUE?

  • Sessions must be paid for in full 7 days before the session.

DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS? 

  • Yes, I accept all major credit cards.

CAN YOU HELP ME CHOOSE IMAGES TO ORDER?  

  • I am happy to provide suggestions on the most flattering images.
